Loo Yuk Ling

Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Loo Yuk Ling is a writer and journalist. She often goes by 'Jayne Loo'. She had previously worked for Malaysia's leading English daily - The Star Media Group.

Also one of the authors of Backlane Tales, Jayne wrote the story - 'Feeling Different' together with several authors. She has worked with multimedia journalism platform, YOUth Media and was the Head of Production, in charge of producing content suitable for the platform. 

Ex-host of SEMBANG with PARTS and YOUth Media, Jayne has hosted and produced several podcasts about certain youth centered topics and including a feature podcast with Ili Ruzanna from Malaysia's Leading Radio Station - Hitz.FM.

It takes a village to stand out

KAMPUNG Baru Sungai Way, also known as Kampung Baru Seri Setia, was rewarded for its ingenuity when it emerged champion of the Selangor My New Village Chinese New Year Decoration Competition 2022.

The contest was organised by Selangor New Village Development Committee to usher in the Year of the Tiger and promote environmental awareness as participants were also required to decorate using recyclable materials.

VISITORS to Taman Bukit Segar Jaya 2 at 9th mile Cheras in Kuala Lumpur are bound to notice a giant God of Prosperity figure at the entrance to the neighbourhood.

Also called Choy San Yeh, the five-metre-tall structure holds up a gold ingot, which symbolises wealth for the new year, and is illuminated at night.
